Mindful Medical Yoga

WHY MINDFUL MEDICAL YOGA?
It offers patients something unique for their healthcare. This style of yoga offers a holitic approach to physical therapy that develops self-knowledge and self-regulation skills in order to be pro-active in your treatment regimen.

Practicing yoga mindfully can help you find stablity through resiliency and fluidity by releasing pain. The practice of yoga is much more than a system of physical health: it is a science and an art for balanced living, energy management and a path for realizing full human potential.

Mindful Medical Yoga does far more than get you relaxed and help your body-mind become stronger and more flexible. It is a way in which you can learn about yourself and come to experience yourself as whole, regardless of your physical condition. Although it looks like exercise and conveys the benefits of exercise, it is far more than exercise. We do it without striving and without forcing. Instead, we practice accepting our body as we find it, in the present, from one moment to the next. While stretching, strengthening, or balancing we move one breath at a time, playing and discovering our edge, and maintaining moment-to-moment awareness and integration.

The following four week courses are offered every month:


Hips, Low Back, Legs, Knees, & Feet -
based in mindfulness and therefore invites movement from the innate wisdom of the inner body, which is naturally therapeutic for your Body-Mind-Brain-&-Spirit.

Shoulders, Upper Back, Head, Neck, & Arms -
based in mindfulness and therefore invites movement from the innate wisdom of the inner body, which is naturally therapeutic for your Body-Mind-Brain-&-Spirit.

Mindfulness - a gentle body-centered practice for restoring calm, finding balance, & opening your heart.

Integrated Health - This restorative class is designed to support and nourish all your body systems. Learn how to attune to your body as a resource for self-regulation this naturally helps make room in your nervous system for your innate vitality. Designed to ultimately restore your body to its natural state of alignment in relationship to the constant force of gravity and improve your daily overall function.

Classes are small and personal, tailored to support your learning.
